A Fun Organizing Solution...

...from Make It and Love It! Her post here, inspired me to make my own! So I gathered my supplies, pretty much ment I had to go to my favorite crafting store, any excuse I tell ya! And this is how it came out! I like it a lot!

There is a tutorial on Make It and Love It's blog! Try it out, its super easy and the longest part is waiting for the Mod Podge to dry!

This is a peek into my organization of my "office space". As you can see it still has a LONG way to go, but hopefully it will all come together over my winter break from school!

Well I hope everyone is having a great time during the holidays!

Last Night was A Night....

...in history! The Dallas Cowboys have gone 2-1 in December, for the first time since 1996! Holy Moly! And they did it beating the undefeated Saints, and then a shut out last night against the Redskins (17-0!) I was a very happy girl last night! Maybe there is hope after all!

Anyway, I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and is ready to celebrate not only a new year but a new decade!

So I've been MIA....

....because of school and work. I am now working 2 jobs, 1 as a Barista at a local coffee shop and the other job is thanks to the H1N1 Flu! I am doing the data entry for all those who have been vacinated in Custer County. Its rather interesting the stipulations that the CDC is putting out there for this vaccine.
Either way, I have not had as much time for crafting and blogging, which is brining my spirits down a bit. Hopefully I can better organize my time, and instead of being a lazy bones and watching TV all night when I get a day off, I can you know work on something crafty!
School is getting tougher though, and requiring a lot more time to do the homework that is assigned and well, its just a pain! HAHA!!
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, per se, just a little busy!

Until Next Time,
XOXO

Last Night Was Monday Night Football with...

(Image From blackplanet.com)
VS

THE DALLAS COWBOYS and the Carolina Panthers! The game was so awesome last night. Not to mention I have worked every Monday night since I can remember, and I got a day shift yesterday, on the very day that my Cowboys were playing MNF! I think it was fate.
The first half was a rather boring half to say the least. Neither team scored until the Panthers made their only score of the night. And that was at like 2 minutes left in the half. Then I dont know what Wade Phillips said to them over half-time but the Cowboys came back a totally different team! and they scored and scored and scored! With the final score being 21-7!!! What??? Really?? It was an awesome 2nd half and I'm so glad I finally got to watch my boys play!

And on top of that I made chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and corn for dinner, with funfetti brownies for dessert. What a perfect ending to a rather chaotic day!

What I Made...

...for breakfast this morning. I LOVE the Egg McMuffins from McDonalds, but I really hate that they almost cost $3. I feel that they are over priced and not worth it. So when I was at the grocery store last night, getting things for dinner, I decided I would try to make my own Egg McMuffin, SkyleRae style! It was so delish and really simple.

Now forgive me for the photo, it was taken with my cell phone and so the pictures well not the best, but it is so so good!
This is the easiest thing to make, and I havent crunched the numbers, but I'm thinking its cheaper than going to Mickey D's, mainly because its made from things that you usually have at your house, maybe not the english muffins but I had everything else.

Egg Muffin Recipe
Yield: 1 egg muffin

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 english muffin
1 slice American cheese (or your preferred melting cheese)
1 slice ham (I used a smoked ham, but whatever you choose)
1/2 tbsp. butter (or what you think to cover the bottom of the pan for frying the egg)

Directions:
1. Place the butter in the frying pan over medium heat, melt.
2. Place muffin in the toaster.
3. Add egg to melted butter, and fry to over hard.
4. Place the bottom of the muffin on the plate.
5. Place fried egg on muffin bottom.
6. Add slice of ham to the pan, and fry it until warm.
7. Add slice of cheese on top of the egg.
8. Place ham on top of cheese and add the muffin top.
9. ENJOY!

This recipe is super easy, so good, and super fast! I hope you enjoy!

I have a...

...personal challenge for myself. I recently (last weekend) went to Denver to see my best friend, Rachel of RachelMayDesigns. I had such a GREAT time that I want to go back and back and maybe live there one day. I have to of course finish school first, but after that just maybe I can get down there to live!
Anywho....

On our trip we visited our favorite scrapbooking store, Archivers. We love this place, a lot of it has to do with the HotSpot, everythings $1.99, and since I usually only make it down about once a year that is my splurging place! So I did just that this weekend, and then made a challenge for myself, I must use all stamps that I own at least once.
I have a ton of unused stamps, way more than I expected, as you can see from the picture, yes that is a bin full of UNUSED stamps! I had no idea. So my challenge is to use all of these stamps before I can buy anymore. I would also like to challenge you to do the same. Try to use all your unused stamps before buying anymore! Good luck!
So keep your eyes posted at my shop for the new things I will be creating with my stamps. I've started out good, last night I created 2 cards, now I just need to photograph, edit and go through the posting progress to get it up on the site.
I also maybe participating in the local farmers market here in Laurel, just to try it out. So keep your fingers crossed!

My Mom and I....

...have started a garden! Woo Hoo!! It was exciting to go to the green house and pick out all the vegetable plants to be planted, and the GREAT news is we have all the fixins to make SALSA! Oh, I don't think I've mentioned this before but I'm a huge fan for chips and salsa! They are the perfect snack in my opinion of course! Here is some pics of our garden!

Well this isn't all of it, but Blogger is being slow for some reason today with the uploads, and I'm runnin out of patience! But its a start...maybe more later, when it isn't so slow!

Oh yeah, and btw there is some great blog candy here, please leave a comment on her blog post and enter for a chance to win!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday, its cold here, so time to make some Cocoa!

The Adventure of...

...POTATO PANCAKES! So the other morning my mom and I decided we would try our hand at making potato pancakes, mainly because we had a surplus of mashed potatoes from the night before, but beyond that it was a very fun experience and they were delish! And the best part of it all is the fact that they are so so easy! You can see here, that there is eggs and flour and the molded pancakes! The eggs actually were just a side to go with the pancakes, but they made it into the picture. (But after talking to my aunt, after ours were made she said to put eggs in with the potatoes to act as a binder.)

So the recipe is pretty simple, mashed potatoes, flour, eggs, and bacon grease. Mix the potatoes and eggs and form into a patty. Lightly cover in flour, and fry in bacon grease. You need approx. an half-inch of bacon grease.

These are our pancakes frying in the pan, we didn't use as much grease as we needed to, but they were still good! Oh, and you fry until golden brown! So simple and so easy, and a great way to use up left over mashed potatoes. It could easily become the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas breakfast. Before you know it you'll be making extra mashed potatoes just to have potato pancakes the next morning! In the mean time, you already have the bacon cooked, so cook up a couple eggs to go with, any way you like 'em. We did scrambled.
We also were trying to figure out what to put on top of them. We did ketchup mainly because thats all we had, and secondly because we thought it sounded good! We also thought that ranch would taste great, and maybe some salsa! Leave a comment on what else you think would be great toppers for the pancakes! It would be great to hear other ideas!
I hope you all enjoy! Give it a try!
xoxo

Finals are over...

...and now I can get back to my blog! YAY! I've been neglecting it horribly for a while now. But it is summer vacation, and since I couldn't afford to take summer classes, I have a break! YAY! So my summer is going to be packed with a vacation to Denver, to see my best friend, work on my etsy site, and work of course!
The other day while checking my reading list, I came upon this great idea for playing with Mod Podge. Thank you to The How-to-Gal! I got to playing with it, and granted these aren't necessarily my best work but they will do for my first go round, but here are some magnents I made using her technique.

They are so fun and so easy...as you can see they are being used on the fridge already! I did magnents instead of a pendant like The How-to-Gal, but it is still very simple instead of the baile, I used a hot glue gun and magnents that I got at Michaels. I found all the elements for this project between Hobby Lobby and Michaels. You should all try it!

Nextly, I've been very busy this first weekend off from school! I bought a new computer yesterday and if I had a picture of it I would show you! So I can stay updated in the blogging world! YAY! Sorry for the long post today, but I got lots to share!

Oh, one final thing, looks like I will be passing all my classes this semester, still waiting on a few final grades, but I think I'm in good shape!

XOXO

3 weeks left...

...and I'm done with this semester! I cannot wait, its been a semester from down under, and I'm so ready for it to be done and summer to be here for some "R 'n R". I had a great Easter weekend though, I went to Thermopolis, WY, home of the worlds largest mineral hot springs, to see my family and spend Easter with them. It was a great time. I have 4 cousins, 2 of which are 5 and under, and its so precious seeing them find the eggs and being excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought them. Its so sweet, and makes you grateful for young innocence.
The major bummer of the weekend was that I went down there with a dead battery in the camera! Ooops! I thought before I left that I should grab the charger, then talked myself out of it for whatever reason! Teach me! But I got a couple pics on my cell phone, which will work, just not as many as I wanted!
Anyway...Now its back to the grind, for 3 more weeks and then all I need to worry about is my website and work. It sounds so nice! I suppose I need to run to the craft store before class!

Learned a new technique that really rocks!

Hello all!

So as you all know I'm a crafter! Love them, and learning new things! I learned a new tecnique the other day. Its called resist stamping you can see the video I seen here. Its really cool, I tried it today and used the clear embossing powder because i couldn't find the Perfect Medium at the local craft store. And it worked just as well. I will show you mine.
To the left is the one I did, in literally like 2 minutes! It's so quick and so easy! Not to mention it looks AWESOME!
To complete this project you need:
Rubber stamps (I used clear)
Ink pad
Brayer
Paper
Clear Embossing Powder
Clear Stamp pad
Embossing Heat gun
Paper towel
1. Stamp images on you piece of paper in any pattern you would like.
2. Sprinkle with embossing powder, and remove excess.
3. Use your heat gun to set the powder
4. Roll your brayer in the ink pad
5. Roll the brayer across your paper with the stamped images
6. Cover the entire paper with ink
7. Wipe with a paper towel to remove the excess ink.
8. ENJOY!!!!
Like I said this is super easy to do! I hope you all enjoy this!

I'm Sitting in the Library...

because I need to be studying for a test that I have at 2:30 this afternoon. I've been studying my brains out it seems for this class and hopefully it will pay off on this exam. I really need it to. Other than that I'm not up to too much today, I have a meeting for work tonight so that means from when I'm done with my test to 6 I need to find something to do. I brought my laptop in with me today and hopefully I can work on Etsy (www.skylerae.etsy.com) some more, but we will see. I really need to get better about making and getting stuff posted on there, its the only way I'm going to sell anything! School is keeping me uber busy so thats taking a toll on how much I can do for it also. So hopefully tonight and Friday for sure I can work on it.
Another thing is I've been trying to get my mom into scrapbooking and crafts, and she says she wants to do more of them but I need to get her motivated to actually do them! Any ideas?
Well I suppose, I had better make sure I know my stuff for this test!

Waiting...

I'm sitting at the school right now waiting to go to work for the night. I only work like a block and a half from the school, and I get out of class at 4, and work at 5. Not worth driving home to turn around and drive back, so here I sit. Bored...I could study but it doesn't seem to work when I have to constantly watch the time. So I waste time on MySpace, Facebook and here, but it helps to make the time go by faster. I spent most of my morning working on stuff for Etsy, not to post but to keep up with the cost and such. Not as much fun as it sounds, but I've got plenty of Etsy time in the next week or two, so I can get more things listed! (I really need to get better about that, they say you should post 1 thing per day!)
The snow is melting away and the interstate is dry. So thats good, gotta love spring in Montana, don't like the weather right now, just wait 5 minutes!
Well, I suppose, I will puruse Etsy and myspace some more!

Until next time!

Studying and Snow!

Well its been a pretty eventful day. I was late for work, because I thought I worked at a different time. But everythings okay. Then when I got off of work and drove home in a blizzard, I'll post pics.

Oh and studying is going good, it may not be the most ideal study position, at least by the books. But its working out good for me, so thats good.

And a good thing that happened today my mom and I made dinner, a cheesey pasta and broccoli and a chopped veggie salad that was just delicious! I love homecooked meals! They always taste so much better and leftovers are a must!
Well I suppose, I'm going to get back to watching some Desperate Housewives, and studying some more! Oh boy! Hopefully the blizzard doesn't go all night or it could make tomorrow interesting when driving and very slick!
Until Next Time!

One before work....

So I work at a coffee shop in Billings, people know it as City Brew. Its fun, but tonight I have to work the longest shift! 2-1030p. Its going to be good money and well worth it, but oh man! Plus I'm studying for a major test thats on Wednesday and I have one on Tuesday also but not quite as big of a deal! BUSY BUSY!
I also realized that I forgot to include my web address to my store, SkyleRae's, it is www.skylerae.etsy.com, please check it out!

Well I should be getting on my way to work, its a 25 mile drive there!

Welcome to the Blogging World!

Well, I'm not exactly new to the blog world, but I'm not exactly a pro. I wanted to start this as a way to document not only my life and experiences, but also to promote my website in another way! I love to do crafts and hang out, though school is constantly putting a hinderance on my time! Hopefully I will have time this summer to work on making my website absolutely amazing!

I suppose I had better get to studying! 2 tests this week, should be interesting!
